Lead Up Project Description

Lead Up is a passion project, a professional capstone, and a labor of love. It brings together my many years of experience with the desire to level-it-up, break new ground, and help more young people pursue their best life.
Lead Up nurtures ambition and reduces opportunity gaps for minority and low-income students; propelling talented young people toward college and career. We empower students to discover their talents, explore their interests and build networks that connect them to mentors, opportunities, and ways to engage with the community issues that they are passionate about. Through these efforts, we write new stories for underrepresented youth, and their communities, but maximizing potential and creating pathways to join the next generation of innovators, craftsmen, entrepreneurs and community leaders.
When designing lead Up, I saw a critical need to integrate career education into college access, knowing that career readiness does not magically develop as part of readiness for college or from career preparation given in a separate dimension. Low-income students need interventions that are intensive, sustained, rigorous and above all, connected.
Lead Up begin changing lives in 2016 and is a 501 (c)(3) organization. Learn more at www.leadupus.org.
